Popfolio compiles my college industrial design works in pop-up form. From a rocking chair that rocks to a clock that ticks, a bag that opens and closes, and an app that scrolls—every piece in this book offers an interactive paper representation of its real-life counterpart, capturing experiences in paper.

Recognition for Innovation
Popfolio earned me the Honorable Mention for the Emerging Paper Engineer Prize from the Movable Book Society in 2018.
I traveled to Kansas City, Missouri for recognition at the international Movable Book Society Conference, where I connected with paper engineers, pop-up collectors, and enthusiasts from around the globe.
Larry Seidman, a pop-up collector and historian, highlighted the innovative nature of the center spread mechanism—a fusion of a volvelle and a carousel. I had unknowingly created this while attempting to recreate the Carousel Tea Book experience in pop-up form. This accidental invention ignited my passion for professional paper engineering.
Conversations with Larry and other paper engineers at the conference inspired me to pursue paper engineering as a career. I committed myself to developing the local paper engineering industry and making pop-ups accessible to Filipinos.
