”It started when I was very young, my mom and I love to craft as bonding. She taught me how to make my first pop-up card, and I gave it to her on Valentine’s Day—it had like a pop-up heart on it. Eventually, that developed my love for crafting and art, and basically my curiosity.”
In 2018, I received an honor that felt like a dream come true—The Movable Book Society awarded me the Honorable Mention for the Emerging Paper Engineer Prize. This recognition was a huge milestone for me, and it opened doors I never expected. One of those doors led me to Rush Hour on One News PH, where I got to share my story and passion for paper engineering with a larger audience.

My journey began in a much simpler place. As a kid, I spent a lot of time crafting with my mom, and I still remember the first pop-up card we made together—a Valentine’s card with a heart that pops up when you open it. That little project sparked something in me, a love for creating that has only grown stronger over the years.
As I got older, I started experimenting with more complex projects, moving from simple pop-up cards to designing moving structures for books! Every project was a learning experience, and each one helped me build the skills that eventually led to the recognition from The Movable Book Society.
Being featured on One News PH was a surreal moment, but it also made me realize how important it is to stay connected to where it all began. That first pop-up card was more than just afternoon crafts—it was the beginning of a journey that I’m still on today.
Now, I continue to push myself to explore new ideas and techniques, always driven by that same passion I had as a kid. The recognition is great, but the real joy comes from the creative process itself, from turning simple ideas into something special.
